
It is located to the east of Villa de Teguise, the municipal capital, from which it is separated by the Guanapy mountain with the imposing Santa Bárbara Castle on its summit.
Teseguite was born. in the 16th century as the area to which the Moorish slaves who were captured in Africa were sent, once they were released upon being baptized, so that they were kept isolated from the neighbors of Teguise.
Teseguite is an area of pastures and a producer of cereals, onions, etc. Lately some greenhouses have been installed in an attempt to find new perspectives for island agriculture.
Throughout this area there are several typical houses dedicated to rural tourism.
We highlight its hermitage of San Leandro (17th century) which rises in a charming paved square, from where we can see other nearby towns such as El Mojón or Los Valles.

The main popular festivals in Teseguite are those celebrated in honor of San Leandro, patron saint of the municipality, between February and March.
The festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, in the month of October, are also very celebrated.
