Charco del Palo

Charco del Palo

The town was founded around 1970 by the German Gregor Kaiser. This remote place was the first natural resort established in the Canary Islands. Today nudism is still allowed everywhere in the village. It is very common to see completely naked people of all ages on its sandy streets and paths, although there are no obligations regarding nudism.

On the rocky and steep coastline, some small natural pools fill with clean water from the sea when the tides rise and are an ideal place to bathe in peace.

To date Charco del Palo has preserved its character of a small and cozy town, and very far from the large tourist developments in the south.

The town is located mainly within the municipality of Haría, but a small part is inserted into the limits of the municipality of Teguise in its southern part.
