Tegoyo, La Asomada by La Geria

The beginning of this walk is in the small church of Tegoyo. A church that is part of the property of Casa Tegoyo, a very attractive manor house dating from the 18th century, located opposite.

The house was purchased as an abandoned stable in 1804 by the wealthy lawyer Don Domingo Stinga who lovingly restored it as a gift for his Italian wife. There is a rumor that there is a passageway underground that goes from the manor house to the small church built by Don Stinga to prevent others from admiring his beautiful wife. The property opened as a restaurant/hotel in 1999 until its sale in 2006.

We take the road that leads us south, to La Geria, and after a few 500 meters on asphalt, the path turns off towards Caldera Gaida (it is signposted) and bordering the slopes of the Caldera de Gaida to the north to then turn left ascending to the crater of Montaña Guardilama, whose interior is cultivated.

At the top we take a deep breath and enjoy the view of the east and west coasts of Lanzarote as well as the entire Timanfaya National Park and we are ready to go down the face further north

We surround the crater at the opposite end and descend towards the cut-out between Guardilama and Tinasoria along a path between crops. Here we can ascend Tinasoria, whose crater also houses cultivated land.
