Tahíche is a town located in the municipality of Teguise, on the island of Lanzarote. The proximity to the capital of the island, Arrecife, has turned it into a dormitory town.
Located in volcanic areas, where, despite this, there are several crop fields. Tahíche sits on the slopes of the crater of the volcano that bears the same name. Its shape is impressive, and depending on the time of year, the combination of colors that we can see on its slopes is very striking: reddish, ocher, green and black. At the base of this mountain you can see the different strata of the earth, showing a more than attractive geomorphology and textures.
Tahiche, in turn, is crossed by a spectacular lava flow from the great eruptions that occurred on the island between 1730 and 1736. This black and young lava contrasts with the aridity of the soil and the mountains prior to these rashes.
In Tahíche are the headquarters of various associations and institutions at the island level, among which the César Manrique Foundation and the centers dependent on the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria of the School of Tourism of Lanzarote and the School of Nursing of Lanzarote,
