The church of San Juan de Dios and San Francisco de Paula, known as the Convent of San Francisco, was built as a Dominican conventual church in the s. XVIII, by Captain Rodríguez Carrasco.
Currently this historic building hosts contemporary art exhibitions with two objectives:
The Convent has a double façade with a bell tower on its left side, two porticoes and a small round window. The insignia of the Dominican order is found above the right entrance on a red stone.
Inside we find two naves, one 36 meters long and 8 meters wide and the second is a little smaller. They are separated by 4 arches decorated with carved red and black stone. At the head of the main nave we find a neoclassical stone altar dedicated to the Virgen del Rosario (Patron Saint of the Dominican Order) and to the right of the nave there is a large altar of Hispano-American design that has its origins in the old hermitage of San Juan de Dios.
