Haría, Máguez through the Atalaya

The path begins in the town of Haría, where Canary Island palm trees (Phoenix canariensis) and farmland abound.

We start from Plaza León y Castillo, in the center of town, heading north along Fajardo street, turning the first corner to the right towards El Molino street, we will leave the town.</ p>

Our route now ascends through the Atalaya, an ancient volcanic cone surrounded by grasslands and palm trees (Phoenix canariensis), finding the remains of an old mill. Taking the path that runs through it and crossing abandoned crops, we reach a natural viewpoint from which we can see the towns of and Máguez, Arrieta, Punta Mujeres strong> and Mala, as well as much of the Malpaís de la Corona and the east coast of the municipality.

The dominant landscape is the result of three different volcanic series, forming a series of meadows used agriculturally for the cultivation of self-consumption products such as potatoes, millet, wheat, legumes and others.

We now return to the mill crossing to begin the descent to Máguez, surrounded by vine crops. The road ends in Maguéz through Marcial Luis street. Then, continuing through the streets of Los Cascajos, Las Casillas and Luis Morote until you reach Plaza de Santa Bárbara.
