El Grifo Wine Museum

The Lanzarote wine museum is located among the vineyards from El Grifo area, on the Monumento al Campesino to Uga, in the town of Masdache. It occupies the old cellars, built on volcanic lava from the 18th century eruption and dating from 1775.es the old cellars, built on volcanic lava from the 18th century eruption and dating from 1775.

Access from the road is indicated by the monument to the griffin bird, by the Lanzarote artist César Manrique.

The ethnographic material that is exhibited in its interior is from the end of the 19th century and the beginning  from the 20th century where you can see the evolution of machinery in winemaking (wine presses, pumps, treaders, stills, cooperage workshop...)

Inside it also houses a library on wine that has some 4,000 volumes, along with a collection of documents with some writings from the 16th century.

The Museum also offers the possibility of taking a half-hour walk among the vineyards along the marked paths, where we will enjoy excellent views.

It has a shop where you can buy various objects related to wine such as aerators, corkscrews...
