Pedro Perico Chasm

In the vicinity of the town of the Gulf located in the The southwestern part of the island of Lanzarote is the Pedro Perico mountain or Pedro Perico volcano with an elevation of 258 meters and is located within the Timanfaya Natural Park. This is located between its sisters Montaña Quemada and Montaña Encantada

Pedro Perico Cave is an explosive crater in the shape of a chimney in the middle of a field of black slag, which can be seen at the foot of the volcano and surrounded by fig trees.

It is a chasm of approximately -18 meters and a route of some 104 meters.

To access it we have to go down in two sections of about 10 meters each, in the first we have a wall and the second is a flying descent, until reaching the top of a mountain of picon produced by the effect of the wind that drags the picón from the surroundings of the mouth of the cave and falls into it.

The main vault has a circumference about 50 meters in diameter.
