Found in the town of Mozaga -municipality of San Bartolomé-, in the geographical center of the Island. Its presence defines two well-differentiated landscapes: the center one, in which jable -beach sand- predominates, and the south one, which is eminently volcanic.
From afar, this Center can be seen by the presence of the sculpture Fertility, made by César Manrique in homage to the farmer from Lanzarote. A white sculptural piece, made with metal tanks from old ships and standing on a small promontory.
The Museo del Campesino recreates the traditional architecture of Lanzarote and its construction details, such as balconies, chimneys, doors and windows... The complex is made up of various groups of rooms.
In the central body there is a restaurant dedicated exclusively to the typical gastronomy of the Island, where you can taste a variety of popular dishes.
A second complex houses a pottery workshop and an exhibition of clay pieces by artisan Juan Brito. You can see various agricultural tools and the reproduction of an old kitchen room.
The third and last one houses the shop and various rooms with furniture and elements referring to the past: photographs, handcrafted textile products, tools, dresses...
Isolated on the horizon, a monumental sculpture called "Fecundity" stands out, dedicated to the farmer from Lanzarote.
Inside this we can see numerous objects and tools related to island culture and agriculture.
