Casa de los Arroyo

It was built in the s. XVII as one of the 2 customs houses owned by the Marquises of Lanzarote and was owned, first by the Armas family and later by the Arroyo family. Its architecture recalls the popular and the domestic, and it has been declared a historic-artistic monument. The Casa de los Arroyo is currently the headquarters of the "Blas Cabrera" Scientific-Cultural Center, in homage to the distinguished physicist born in Arrecife.

They were made different works in 1739 and 1794-1795, configuring its current appearance in which the roof covered with Arabic tiles stands out, something very little used in the houses of Arrecife. Another important element is its carpentry, the richest in the city.

Currently it houses the Blas Cabrera Scientific-Cultural Center, created in honor of the distinguished physicist from Lanzarote who was a friend of Einstein and Curie.
