La Casa Amarilla

La Casa Amarilla is the denomination with which a part of the population familiarly knows the old headquarters of the Cabildo de Lanzarote on León street and Castillo, also known as Calle Real. It is one of the most notorious buildings in the city and an example of eclectic architecture for administrative use. It was built at the end of the 1920s, in the heart of the historic center of the island's capital, Arrecife.

After being declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 2002, the building underwent a thorough rehabilitation process that ended in the summer of 2014.

Currently it has two levels. The ground floor of the Casa Amarilla is intended for the dissemination area and houses temporary exhibitions focused on the knowledge and ethnographic memory of Lanzarote, an information point and ticket sales for cultural events organized throughout the year. ; and a shop for the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism of Lanzarote, leaving the upper floor focused on the administrative use of the Data Center.
