The Playa de la canteria, but known among the locals as "La Playa de Atrás",  it is Located in the municipality of Haría, on the outskirts of the town of Órzola, following the coast towards Punta de Fariones. 

This is a beautiful beach with impressive colors and contrasts, around 100m long.

The bath is pleasant although you have to be very careful with the currents.

Surfing

The strong currents and the intense wind that generally prevails on the beach make it ideal for surfing, when the wind comes from the south of the island.

Here different waves break like beach breaks without any defined peak except for a left one that usually breaks in the middle of the beach. Those who know this beach know that it is worth waiting a whole year just to be able to surf the quality sessions that usually appear with the arrival of autumn. This wave can easily hollow out if there are good conditions such as a southerly wind and a swell. It is on these days of quality waves that it is recommended to get up early if you want to enjoy a good swim.

What to see

During the years of the Spanish civil war, in the area that runs between the beach and the town of Órzola, trenches were created, which although with great care, due to the steepness of the area, it can be visited.

Its surroundings have a fountain and we can also enjoy some caves.

Access

From the airport: LZ2 towards Arrecife, LZ1 towards Órzola. At the entrance of the town, after the supermarket turn left and along the dirt track you will reach the beach.
