El Patio Agricultural Museum

The museum is located in Tiagua, in the old house of a farmer in which it was the largest and most old agrarian exploitation of Lanzarote. Data from the mid-19th century. Almost a century later  This large space became the ethnographic center of Lanzarote culture and traditions. A landscape agrarian example of the integration of man and nature, which can be seen through the farm's trails.

Inside the photographs reflect the use of volcanic land to give: onion, potato, tomato and millet mainly. The pottery, the work with ceramics and other artisan manifestations such as the elaboration of rosettes, as well as the clothing of the old farmer make up another predominant aspect in the museum. The exhibited materials are highly organized and have some simple explanations, which allow the visitor to understand those hard times.

The presence of a flour mill, with ground floor circular and three stories high, as well as a mill. next to these A bakery stands out, with the same function although animal traction.

It also has a cellar, wine press, patios, types of roofs, hermitage, chimneys..., without forgetting the still life that reproduces a typical catina of the last century.

Today in El Patio, the crops continue to be worked traditional from Lanzarote (fruits, cereals, tomatoes...), breeding farm animals (camels, goats, chickens, ...). They also make and bottle their own wine (malvasia, red, muscatel) and produce excellent goat cheese, which you can taste in the canteen where you can also buy it.
